Cities and towns around the state host 9/11 remembrance events

On the 23rd anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, local cities and towns will hold remembrance ceremonies commemorating those we lost in the attacks. In Exeter, members of the American Legion and Marine Corps League will join area residents at 9 a.m., Wednesday, September 11 at the Wall of Honor at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter for the purpose of paying homage to those lost in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The City of Warwick will hold its annual remembrance ceremony Wednesday, September 11th at the 9/11 Memorial in Oakland Beach to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of the terrorist attacks. The ceremony will begin at 10:28 a.m. with a moment of silence to observe the exact time when the North Tower of the World Trade Center collapsed.
