PHOTO: It’s National Fire Prevention Week everyone!
National Fire Prevention Week began Sunday, Oct. 6 and ends on Saturday, Oct., 12. This year’s NFPA slogan is, “Smoke Alarms: Make them work for you.” This slogan will be the ongoing theme until next October, when the National Fire Protection Association creates another fire safety slogan.
This week’s Sunday feature contained that slogan, along with a reminder to change smoke alarm batteries at the end of the month when we turn our clocks back one hour for daylight saving time. The Fearless Dino Protector Squad has been reminding kids and families about fire safety and burn prevention since 1996. These trademark cartoon characters are a team of firefighter dinosaurs that feature apparatus at the ends of their tails.
