Fire crews were on scene in Johnston Thursday morning for a reported fire. The call came in just before 7 a.m. at 1301 Plainfield Street for a working fire at a residential home. Mutual aid from surrounding towns was called in. According to officials, the fire was located on the second floor and knocked down quickly. No one was home at the time of the fire. There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
