A firefighter was injured and a car was destroyed as a result of a fire that broke out early Wednesday morning in Providence. Firefighters from the Providence Fire Department responded to Ohio Avenue at around 3:10 a.m. for a garage fire. The car inside of the garage was destroyed during the fire, but firefighters were able to prevent the flame from spreading to the home. However, the house did suffer damage from the heat of the garage fire. Fire officials said that a firefighter suffered a non-life threatening injury during the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
