PHOTO: The Southampton Fire Company No. 1 and mutual aid companies handled a pick-up truck fire and a brush fire over the past few days. On Tuesday, Rescue 2 assisted with setting up a Landing Zone with Tri-Hampton Rescue Squad and Trevose Fire Company Station 4/84. Also on Tuesday, Engine 2, Rescue 2, Engine 65 (Bensalem Volunteer Fire Department) and Quint 35 (Upper Moreland Township Fire Department) responded to a pick-up truck fire. Fire officials said the vehicle’s gas tank burnt through and it was unable to be extinguished with water. Foam was used to help with extinguishment and flammable vapor suppression, fire officials said. A secondary brush fire was caused by the burning fuel, fire officials said. The fire company thanked the Feasterville Fire Company and Lower Southampton Fire Department No.1 for handling the brush fire.
