A Pennsylvania fire official who was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle in the line of duty last month is recovering, the fire company said Monday.
Junction Fire Company took to Facebook and shared the good news that Fire Police Officer Troy Rinehart was discharged from the hospital and is at a rehab facility.
“The officers and members of the Junction Fire Co have a breath of fresh air for you all this evening,” the post reads. “We have been informed that Fire Police Officer Troy Rinehart has been discharged from University hospital in Hershey (aka Hershey Medical Center) he is now at a rehab facility and hopes to be back to the area and returning to fire police duties before the end of the year.”
As emergency crews were leaving a home, that they were dispatched for an odor of smoke, around 11 p.m. Aug. 22; a driver struck Rinehart who was helping to block Route 522 South.
