VIDEO/PHOTOS: A barn was up in flames Monday in Berks County. The call came in late Monday morning from the 100 block of Goose Lane in Spring Township. "Crews arrived on location within 7 minutes to find fire through the roof of a 60-by-40," said Chief Colin Hackman, Township of Spring Fire Rescue Services. "It was more of a storage barn. It wasn't full of hay or animals; it was for equipment." Flames and smoke could be seen pouring from the barn.
"Soon after the crews arrived on location, the building collapsed inside of itself due to the amount of fire," Hackman said. A 69 News crew on the scene said the fire was mostly out by 11:40 a.m.
The owner did not want to speak on camera, but said there were no animals or people inside, and they were able to get a lot of the equipment out.
