Three local firefighters were honored for their bravery after saving a woman’s life during an apartment fire earlier this year. In February, B’nai B’rith Apartments on East Northampton Street in Wilkes-Barre had to be evacuated after a fire broke out on the second floor. The three firefighters being honored on Monday helped a woman who was trapped in her apartment and couldn’t get out. There was a ceremony held at DeSales University in Center Valley. All three received the Spirit of Courage award.
