VIDEO/PHOTOS: Two people were hurt after flames broke out at a home in Lehigh County on Friday afternoon.
The fire was reported shortly after noon in the 4000 block of Chestnut Hill Road in Upper Saucon Township.
The homeowner was working on a car in the attached garage when fire broke out, the fire chief said. Flames reached the insulation of the home and quickly spread, engulfing the house. The fire chief said an older couple lived in the home. The man, who was working on the car, was rushed to the hospital with severe burns, and his wife was taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation, officials said.
The fire was initially reported with entrapment, but the chief says the couple was able to escape on their own.
Flames and smoke poured from the windows and roof, as at least eight fire companies responded to the scene.
