Downed wires caused a boat between two homes to catch fire on Tuesday, fire officials said. The Hartsville Fire Company responded Tuesday to a report of downed wires in a neighborhood, which was upgraded to a house fire. Fire officials said a boat next to a home became engulfed in flames after making contact with the downed wires. The fire extended to the exterior of the dwelling and caused radiant heat damage to the siding of the neighboring home, fire officials said. Fire officials did not reveal the location or time of the fire. Squirt 93 arrived about 3 minutes after dispatch, extinguishing the fire before it extended to the interior of either house. The fire company thanked mutual aid partners the Warminster Fire Department, Warwick Township Fire Company No. 1, Warrington Fire Co. #1, and the Warrington Township Emergency Services for their assistance.
