VIDEO: To help address the critical shortage of volunteer firefighters, Clearfield, Cambria and Indiana County fire departments are teaming up to launch a campaign.
The campaign, Everyday Heroes, showcases how everyday people can make an impact in their communities. Local fire departments are encouraging people to bring their strengths and experiences to the table.
From finances to recruitment fire departments across Pennsylvania are struggling and in Clearfield County companies are coming together to fight those problems.
“Because there is a place for everyone of any age in the volunteer fire service,” Jerry Brant, a partner at Decoplan Associates said. “We want to build a solid foundation and we want to instill in this fire department things that they need to do to keep people.”
