PHOTOS: This past Tuesday, Roseburg Fire Department Chief Tyler Christopherson provided a station tour to several students from the City of Roseburg's Sister City - Kuki City, Japan.
Chief Christopherson provided a tour of Station 1, located at the Roseburg Public Safety Center.
While providing the tour, he described the daily life of a firefighter and displayed the tools, equipment, and apparatus used by department firefighters. Kuki City students saw RFD's 100-foot aerial ladder truck and watched firefighter Isaiah Heard climb and slowly advance the ladder into the air.
Students also watched firefighters utilize a door prop to demonstrate the essential firefighting skill of forcible entry.
"It was an honor for Chief Christopherson and Roseburg Fire Department Firefighters to meet the students," the department said on social media.
