Attic fire leaves Eugene home heavily damaged

PHOTOS: A house is heavily damaged after a fire in the garage and attic drew numerous firefighting assets late Sunday night into Monday morning. According to Eugene Springfield Fire, residents of Marshall Avenue reported smoke and fire coming from a house on the street at about 11:43 p.m. on June 30. Firefighters said they arrived to find fire burning in the attic and through the roof of the garage. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control and clear the scene by about 2:30 a.m. on July 1. Firefighters said the home was severely damaged in the fire, but no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. ESF said the efforts to fight the fire drew in numerous resources including an ambulance and two deputy fire marshals.
