The Endicott Fire Department said tenants are being assisted by the American Red Cross after a blaze that began on a porch tore through a building at 106 S. Nanticoke Ave. early Tuesday morning. The department said a report acknowledged that people were still possibly inside the building as crews were arriving at the scene. At the address, the Endicott Police Department confirmed the fire and reported three people were stuck on the back roof. Endicott Officers used dry chemical fire extinguishers in an attempt to put out the blaze and were successful in knocking it down until fire crews arrived. The Endicott Fire Department Quint and Squad 25 crews responded immediately. Off-duty crews from the Endicott Fire Department were then requested by the fire marshal while en route.
