Fire rips through Southampton home

PHOTOS: Firefighters rushed to tackle a home ablaze in Southampton Tuesday night. According to Southampton Fire Department public information officer and ex-Chief Chris Brenner Sr., at 9:57 p.m., the department was activated for a structure fire on Henry Street in Southampton Village. Southampton Village Police arrived at the scene and reported heavy fire at the back of the home. No residents or pets were inside when the fire broke out, Brenner said. The first crew from the Southampton Fire Department was able to knock down most of the fire, Brenner said. There was heavy fire damage to the rear of the house and extensive water damage throughout the residence, Brenner said. All units left the home by 11:51 p.m.
