Suspect arrested for stealing vehicle from Rensselaer County fire department

The Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office has announced a suspect has been arrested, charged with burglary and grand larceny for allegedly taking a fire vehicle. According to a post on social media, a 2019 Chevrolet Fire Utility Vehicle, described as red and yellow with rear roll up doors, was stolen from the Eagle Mills Fire Department in Troy. The Sheriff's Office say the theft occurred on May 16th at around 10:45 PM. The vehicle was later recovered in the Town of Colonie just before noon on Wednesday. The vehicle had last been seen exiting the parking lot of the firehouse and heading westbound on Brunswick Road. The suspect, according to the sheriff's office, was in possession of an orange bicycle that was placed into the stolen vehicle.
