A construction worker has died following a partial building collapse in Bound Brook. According to the Bound Brook Police Department, officers responded Wednesday to 17 W. Main Street where a redevelopment project is underway at the intersection of W. Main Street and Drake Street. After arriving on scene, officers said they were directed to the third floor of the project where they found a 45-year-old man under a pile of cement cinder blocks. Police said the blocks dropped when the structure's elevator shaft fell into the site, striking the worker. The Bound Brook Fire Department was dispatched and was able to remove the victim from the third floor, where he was then transported by the Martinsville Rescue Squad to the hospital.
