Firefighters battled a fire on Carley Road in Peterborough early Monday.
Peterborough Fire Chief Ed Walker told News 9 the fire is in a vacant home currently under renovation. The fire started sometime before 5 a.m. The chief said it was knocked down just after 6 a.m.
"It's a little bit cold, but no, fortunately it wasn't too bad," Walker said. "Tomorrow night would have been a little bit different story."
No injuries have been reported. The fire is not considered suspicious, Walker said.
He said investigators will meet with the homeowner to try to determine where the fire started and what caused it.
