VIDEO: The White Oak Fire Department recently received an improved ISO rating from the North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal, according to a WOFD announcement.
White Oak FD received an ISO Class 6 rating, improving from its 9S rating, which it had for 41 years.
“The drop in rating is actually an increase in the overall fire protection rating of our department,” WOFD states on Facebook. “This means lower homeowners insurance ratings in our district effective August 1st 2024.
“Lots of hard work paid off tonight for our dedicated volunteers and is a benefit our great community. Thank you all who came out tonight to celebrate the announcement. We are very thankful for the leadership of our Chief Tim Tatum and many others during this process. We are small but we are mighty!”
