VIDEO: An vacant building was badly damaged after a two-alarm fire ripped through it in northeast Charlotte on Monday night. The blaze broke out on North Pine Street, not far off North Church Street, the Charlotte Fire Department said. Officials said heavy fire was showing through the roof when fire trucks arrived. It took 45 firefighters about half an hour to control the flames. Firefighters said the blaze started in a second-floor bedroom and that there was evidence of vagrant activity. Nobody was hurt in the fire.
