Roanoke Wildwood Volunteer Fire Department opened their doors again for Bingo on Thursday nights for the first time in over a year. The doors opened at 6:30 p.m. and the first game started around 7:30 p.m. There was an intermission about half way through the night, and the playing finished around 10 p.m. There was no admission to get in the door. The cash prizes for the game ranged anywhere from $25 to $100.
Members of the Auxilary for the Fire Department volunteered their time to cook and prepare hotdogs and light refreshments for the attendees. Various dessert items were also donated by women in the Auxilary . “It’s a happy group. It’s always a happy group. Most of these people are regulars that come on every Thursday night. And it becomes like a family, just like a big family,” said Evelyn Kinzer, a member of the Board of Directors for the Roanoke Wildwood Volunteer Fire Department.
