Crews battled a fire that spread from a building to a high school football stadium, officials say. Multiple fire departments contained a grass and brush fire Thursday that had spread to a high school football stadium. The Boonville Volunteer Fire Department posted on Facebook, explaining that the fire spread from a structure fire nearby. The fire had spread to parts of the Starmount High School football field. “It is my understanding that the fire started in a trailer adjacent to school property,” Yadkin County Schools Superintendent Todd Martin said in an electronic statement.
