Tractor trailer overturns into Jasper County power lines catching fire, Widespread power outage

About 9:30 p.m. a power outage was reported across portions of Webb City and Oronogo. At the same time Carthage Fire were alerted to reports of a tractor trailer crash near CR165 and Jackpine. Carthage Fire Dept arrived on scene to report a semi on its side that had taken down power lines and poles and ignited grass fires from the power lines and tractor trailer flames. Oronogo Fire supported with mutual aid, Mercy Ambulance, Jasper County Deputies, Liberty Utilities, and Missouri State Highway Patrol Troopers. Tpr T.C. Smith tells us the trailer was loaded with 25,000 pounds of frozen vegetables and other food products. The driver has suffered minor injuries.
