A fire broke out in downtown Biwabik Thursday morning. According to Biwabik Fire Chief Danny Mackey, reports of fire alarms at the Alpine Bar first came in around 10:20 a.m. Seven additional Iron Range agencies responded and contained the fire to the first floor. The Chief added damage spread to the basement but not the second floor. There were no injuries and no one was inside the building at the time. The Alpine Bar is now an Airbnb according to online listings. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
