Eight people were displaced Tuesday following a fire in a south Minneapolis duplex. The Minneapolis Fire Department says crews responded around 2 p.m. to a one-and-a-half story duplex on the 2900 block of 32nd Avenue South in the city’s Longfellow neighborhood. Firefighters found smoke coming from the roof and a fire in the attic. All those inside the home were able to get out without injury. After crews knocked down the flames, the home was deemed uninhabitable. One firefighter was hospitalized for a shoulder injury. The American Red Cross was called to assist five adults and three children in need of housing. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
