Fire damaged a house in Northwest Willmar yesterday morning. Fire Chief Frank Hanson says at 7:33 a.m. the resident of a house at 940 Olaf Avenue reported a fire in the dryer in the first floor laundry room, and everyone got out. Hanson says the laundry room had heavy fire damage, while there was some smoke and water damage in other areas of the house. Hanson says firefighters were able to rescue several pets and return them to the owner. There were some exposed wires and concern over electrical shocks, and Willmar Municipal Utilities came and disconnected power. It's believed the fire cause was electrical in nature.
