Fire crews were able to quickly put out a blaze inside a Walker area recycling facility on Wednesday, Sept. 14.
No injuries were reported. Walker firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire in the 3000 block of Northridge Drive, the department said in a Facebook post Wednesday.
The incident occurred earlier this afternoon but the specific time and name of the business was not available from the department before publication. Upon arrival, the post said crews could see smoke and discovered a fire that was contained to a single room inside the recycling facility. In less than 15 minutes, firefighters were able to get a knockdown on the fire and prevent further spread and damage to the building and neighboring businesses.
Walker firefighters were assisted on the scene by members of the Alpine Fire Department.
