The Grand Traverse Metro Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on Supply Road on Sunday morning.
When units arrived on scene they saw two buildings on fire, then the fire spread and caught a third.
Traffic from Perch Lake Road to Rennie Lake Road was stooped in both directions.
The Grand Traverse Metro Fire Department says the buildings were garages owned by a local family for their auto shop business.
Fire chief Pat parker says they had to call in an excavator from Team Elmer‘s to put the fire out. They had assistance from for other fire departments
Chief Parker says, “We had about 27,000 gallons of water on the street and in route at various times to feed this fire. We probably have put about 35,000 gallons of water on that.”
Chief Parker says the cause is still under investigation.
