Fire crews battle overnight house fire in Grandville

A fire significantly damaged a Grandville home overnight. Kent County Central Dispatch said the call came in shortly before 12:30 a.m. Wednesday for a house fire in the 4600 block of Billmar Street SW near the intersection of Thunderbird Avenue SW. At around 1:20 a.m., the 13 ON YOUR SIDE crew at the scene said it appeared firefighters had been able to get the fire under control. Officials said it appears everyone made it out of the home safely and there have been no reports of any injuries. There is no information on what caused the fire yet. Grandville Fire Department is leading the investigation with help from Wyoming and Georgetown Twp. fire departments.
