Mike Sherman reappointed Quincy fire chief

The Quincy Fire Board reappointed Mike Sherman as chief at its April annual meeting Wednesday, then accepted the roster of 22 firefighters to serve the three township district of Algansee, Butler and Quincy. Sherman said his department has added two veterans who moved into the district. Orville Huff, a retired Lansing fireman, is a fire science instructor at Lansing Community College. Jason Luce moved from eastern Lenawee County with 12 years fire experience. The department has two trainees set to graduate the current county fire academy July 11. The chief told the board an automatic mutual aid program with the city of Coldwater, where both departments answer all structure fire calls, “is working pretty good.”
