Several strong, even severe, storms moved through Maine Tuesday evening, bringing heavy rain, strong, gusty winds and a lot of lightning.
Some areas also saw downed trees and power lines, causing thousands of customers to lose power. A few hundred customers were still without power on Wednesday morning, mainly in York County, especially in Lebanon.
Goodwins Mills Fire-Rescue said several trees came down on South Waterboro Road, landing on power lines. They also responded to a tree down on Alfred Road.
Maine's Total Weather says more storms are possible on Wednesday.
There was severe damage in parts of southern and central New Hampshire, including Milford and Keene.
Strong winds toppled trees and power lines, causing some to evacuate from homes deemed unsafe.
