The Maine fire marshal's office is working with managers of a hotel that was gutted by a fire to account for everyone staying there.
The fire broke out at the Days Inn on the Route 1 Bypass around noon Wednesday. Crews from nearby departments, including from multiple New Hampshire communities, helped battle the flames.
Two people, including a firefighter, were treated for injuries, according to the chief.
The fire chief had said early Thursday that two people were unaccounted for, but officials with the Maine Department of Public Safety said they have "no specific information that two people are unaccounted for at this time." The fire chief said some hotel records might not have been fully up to date, making it difficult to determine if everyone made it out.
He said some people were living at the hotel full-time.
