Rockport crash sends four to hospital

An afternoon crash involving a van with six occupants and a sedan on Route 17 in Rockport at the intersection of Liberty Street sent four to the hospital via ambulance with complaints of pain. The crash occurred just before 3:30 p.m., as the van was turning onto Route 17 from Liberty Street and into the path of a sedan heading west on Route 17. There were no life-threatening injuries, according to Camden-Rockport Police Chief Randy Gagne. The crash remains under investigation by Rockport Officers Antonio Del Vecchio and Travis Ford. Multiple agencies responded including Rockport firefighters, Rockport police, Knox County Sheriff’s Office, North East Ambulance, Rockland Fire and EMS, Union Ambulance and Hope firefighters.
