The Maine CDC reported 824 additional coronavirus cases on Wednesday, setting a new single-day record.
There have been 31,150 coronavirus cases reported in Maine as of Wednesday. The Maine CDC says 25,708 of those cases are confirmed and 5,442 are probable. On Tuesday, the Maine CDC reported 30,326 total coronavirus cases.
The Maine CDC says 1,201 people have been hospitalized at some point during their illness and 11,809 people have completed isolations. Maine CDC Director Dr. Nirav Shah said the Maine CDC is trying to keep the recovery numbers updated, but because they have changed how they are doing their case investigations and with so many new cases, they are not necessarily following up with everyone to see if they are recovered or not.
