Dr. Elizabeth True, vice president for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at Maine Maritime Academy, is the recipient of the 2020 Helene Podlubny Community Supporter Award from the Castine Fire Rescue Volunteer Association.
The award was given to her in a ceremony April 15 at the firehouse in recognition of her sustained superior support of the association and its mutually supportive relationship with Maine Maritime Academy, as well as her exemplary efforts to minimize the impact and spread of the coronavirus, both on the MMA campus and in the wider community.
... Awards were also presented to firefighter and MMA graduating senior Korey Deboth, Assistant Chief Tom Gutow and Chief Randy Stearns.
Deboth received the Everitt Leach Award for his outstanding and exemplary service while a member of the CFRD during his years at Maine Maritime Academy.
Gutow was honored with the EMT of the Year Award.
Stearns was honored with the Veteran Fire Service Commendation for his lifelong dedication to the CFRD.
