Firefighters rescued a baby and a mom from an apartment fire in D.C. on Wednesday. DC Fire and EMS officials said in a post that units were at the scene of a three-story apartment building in the 1600 block of 29th St. SE. The fire was in one of the building’s apartments. Firefighters used a ladder to rescue the baby from the second-floor window, and they rescued the mom from the inside of the apartment as well. Both the mom and her child were evaluated on the scene and released.
