A man had to be rushed to the hospital for burns sustained in an early Tuesday morning house fire in Salisbury. The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said it happened shortly after midnight at a two-story home located at 204 Washington St. The Salisbury Fire Department responded to the two-alarm fire and got it under control in an hour. The fire caused an estimated $60,000 in damage to the structure and another $20,000 in damage to its contents. A man inside the home was transported to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional for treatment of non-life-threatening burns. Deputy state fire marshals ruled the fire accidental and determined it started on the front porch due to improperly discarded smoking materials.
