Boston: Two People Rescued in Dorchester Triple-Decker Fire

Two people were rescued from a fire that tore through a multi-family home in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood overnight. Firefighters responded to the triple-decker on Adams Street around midnight and found heavy fire coming from the back porch on the third floor. According to the Boston Fire Department, one person was rescued using a 35-foot ground ladder and another was rescued by an aerial ladder. One person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The heavy fire and smoke were quickly knocked down, but the fire damage is estimated at $500,000+. At least a dozen residents of the home are now displaced. They are being assisted by the Red Cross of Massachusetts. There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire. An investigation is ongoing.
