A fire that broke out at the Waste Management facility in Norton destroyed nearly a dozen garbage trucks. The Norton Fire Department says the fire at the Hill Street facility broke out just before 6 a.m. Monday. Ten trash trucks were fully engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived at the scene, according to a Facebook post from the Mansfield Firefighters Local 1820 union. Photos shared with the union's Facebook post show the charred vehicles. Norton firefighters struck a second alarm to bring in backup. A Mansfield fire engine and Mansfield Air Supply responded to the scene, along with fire crews from a number of other nearby communities. No additional garbage trucks were damaged after firefighters arrived at the scene, according to Norton officials.
