An overheated electric bike battery is being blamed for a fire at an apartment in Springfield’s Six Corners neighborhood Wednesday night. According to the Springfield Fire Department, crews were called to 157 Pine Street just before midnight. The fire was put out quickly and no one was injured. The Springfield Fire and Bomb Squad investigated, and determined that the fire was caused by a faulty battery on an e bike.
