The fire department's rescue vehicle will now have a thermal imager on board, thanks to a donation from local developer Jonathan Bruce. The fire department and select board gratefully accepted the donation of $8,300 at the select board meeting Tuesday night, Jan. 7. "This is huge,” said Fire Chief Matthew Belsito. The rescue vehicle did not have a thermal imager prior to the donation. The thermal imager provides clear images enabling firefighters to navigate through limited visibility conditions. The donation will also be used for updating and purchasing new multi-gas detection equipment. Chief Belsito said the donation will provide "two much-needed upgrades.” "I can't thank you enough," the chief told Mr. Bruce.
