VIDEOS: The National EMS Academy is composed of the Acadian Ambulance and South Louisiana Community College. The partnership was founded back in 2003 with the goal to help train and educate students to become EMTs, then paramedics. Students in Louisiana have a great opportunity in a hybrid setting that is now available for registration. The hybrid course is 30 percent on campus and 70 percent online, allowing students certain days to attend classes and then the flexibility to stay on course from any desired location. Classes begin September 9, 2024, with orientation taking place on September 3 and 4. The campuses in Louisiana offering the course are in Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Covington, Houma, Lafayette, Lake Charles and New Orleans.
