A tree limb fell on a power line Monday morning, April 29, sparking a fire at a Baton Rouge home.
According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, the fire happened at the home on Amarillo Street near Breckenridge Avenue.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, all of the home’s residents were safely outside.
Crews attempted to pull siding out of the way but realized it was energized. They had to call Entergy to disconnect the power.
Once Entergy got to the scene and shut off the power, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in the attic.
The Red Cross was called to assist two displaced residents.
