With the recent passing of the 2024 Shreveport bond proposals, Shreveport Fire Chief Clarence Reese recently gave an update on one of the projects from the 2021 bond, which includes the relocation of Fire Station 14. That bond put $2.9 million towards the new fire station. The fire station is being built one building over from the current station on Greenwood Road. “It is being built, there are walls up, concrete has been laid,” said Reese. “It will be one fire station and one medic unit.” This location will allow for future expansions as the population increases in the area. Reese says the new station replaces one that has become outdated and inefficient for response times, quality care, and proper storage of units. On top of building a new station, Reese talks about a new feature being added.
