Shreveport police are working with Shreveport firefighters after shell casings were found on the ground at the scene of a fire in southwest Shreveport. It happened in a ground floor unit at The Creole Apartments in the 9300 block of Mansfield Road in the Summer Grove neighborhood. The KTBS 3 News crew on the scene spotted police checking out shell casings on the ground, indicating that shots had been fired there. There’s no other information on the shooting. Several people managed to escape the fire before it spread too far. Authorities say one woman on the bottom floor was taken to the hospital to get checked out. Two upstairs residents managed to make it to safety by going through a window. One of those people suffered minor injuries. At least 20 fire and medic units were on scene about 4 a.m.
