Update: Multiple agencies help apprehend Baton Rouge arson suspect

34-year-old Emmanuel George Smith is facing multiple charges relating to an arson fire on July 22. The arson fire took place at 3535 Topeka St. and the home is considered a total loss. Smith was apprehended with the help of these agencies: Baton Rouge Fire Investigators, Louisiana State Police Fugitive Task Force, Attorney General’s Office, and the Baton Rouge Police Department SRT. Smith is currently in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. The 34-year-old man is charged with: 1 Count Simple Arson, 1 Count Terrorizing, 1 Count Home Invasion, and 1 Count Domestic Battery. There is no bail set for Emmanuel George Smith.
