A teenage male is being heralded a hero after narrowly escaping an attic fire on Tams Drive Wednesday morning then rescuing his mother from the blaze. Raymond Patterson says he was woken up Wednesday morning to smoke in the home and fire in the attic. “It’s the scariest moment I’ve ever went through....the scariest. I don’t ever want to go through something like this again,” Patterson says. Officials say the fire was electrical in nature and started in the attic just before 4:13 a.m. It was under control by 4:46 a.m., firefighters say. The attic received heavy fire damage and water from the attic damaged the rest of the house.
