Three construction workers managed to escape a fire at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center Thursday afternoon. Gonzales Fire Chief Tracy Normand says the fire broke out around 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7 at a camper on the grounds where some construction workers are living. Two construction workers were reportedly in the trailer sleeping when the fire started. They were able to get out and alert another worker in the trailer next door. Chief Normand says the wind caused the fire to spread to trailers on each side of the trailer where the fire started. All three workers escaped the trailers without injury.
