A fire early Wednesday damaged a home in west Wichita. The fire happened in the 2400 block of W. Caroline, near Central and Meridian, at around 2:30 a.m.
The Wichita Fire Department says crews arrived to find a fire in a detached garage. The flames spread to the home.
The garage collapsed in the fire and is a total loss. The home was also damaged in the fire.
“Significant damage to the home occurred from the detached garage, with fire in multiple rooms and attic void,” said Batallion Chief Matt Bowen.
No one was hurt. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
