Crews from multiple fire departments battle grass fire in Russell County

Fire crews battled a grass fire in northwest Russell County Tuesday afternoon. The fire started shortly before 2 p.m. The city of Russell Fire Department said the fire is around Shoreline and Land Roads and mostly in open country. Fire officials suspect a downed power line may be the cause of the fire. They didn’t confirm any structure or building damages resulting from this fire. Fire departments from Russell/Grant, Luray, Gorham, Bunker Hill, Dorrance, Lucas, and Waldo/Paradise/Natoma assisted in fighting the blaze.
